When was the last time you visited the Indianapolis Zoo?

I believe the last time I went to the zoo was when ThePolishedPrince was about two years old. I really only wanted to go because I bought him this cute animal shirt that I thought would be perfect content to get at the Indianapolis Zoo. I decided to take ThePolishedPrince to the zoo to celebrate his elevation to the next level in his education.

3 Things I learned about the Indianapolis Zoo:

  1. The entire zoo is CASHLESS. (Meaning they don't accept cash inside the zoo) You can however use credit/debit cards or convert your cash inside the customer service center into a prepaid card.

  2. They still offer the dolphin show but the last show for the day ends at 4pm.

  3. Because the Indianapolis Zoo is privately owned you cannot use any state benefits to get you a discount for admission. A family membership for two starts at $220 for the year.

I asked the kid what was some of his favorite parts about going to the Zoo. He first blurted out riding the train around the Safari was his favorite. Then he liked seeing the rhino, cheetahs, and the giraffes. He got the chance to feed the birds. He would honestly shake a bird off his feeding stick if they ate too much of his bird food and would wait for another bird to feed.

The Indianapolis Zoo is a very cool place but heavy on the expensive sights to see.

I would always recommend to eating before arriving and make sure you plan ahead when it comes to money (Decide which activities you are going to do). It cost $10 to park at the zoo, and any activities like feeding the animals or riding the rides are $4 dollars a ticket. One of the things you can look out for that will be coming in 2024 is the Chimpanzee exhibit. They do have water fountain stations all over the campus so bring a water bottle to fill up if you get thirsty.

I hope you enjoy my knowledge about the zoo and will have a look for yourself.

Love & Light,

- ThePolishedLady
