Hey #PolishedPeople,
I hope you are all doing well out there. I am hanging in there and I'm glad to take this moment to talk about my "ThePolishedLady Tour" I did Oct of 2021. If you have no clue what that is, I went on a week-long tour from black owned business to business to interview the business owners and offer a special discount of a product or service they provide. The reason I decided to go for the tour is because I consider myself an Influencer and I wanted to know how many people really follow me and truly show up for me.
I played a one-man team, and it wasn't easy. It was however rewarding to see my dreams turned into a reality. From this tour, I learned I provide value to all of the clients that I serve, and I am one dedicated entrepreneur to assuring black entrepreneurs are put in a positive spotlight. Of course, the planning stage was hard but getting on social media and collaborating to use different resources helped a whole lot.
There were a lot of unforeseen circumstances that arose like my microphone going out on an interview, the brakes on my car stopped working properly and having to do an interview while watching your child in a mall. Some people not showing up to a location or when I lost my phone. Whew. Even posting these interviews are little past due. I was so disappointed, and life kept getting the best off me, so I decide to take a long overdue break which is enabling me to complete this project so I can move on to the next.
There were also a lot of good things that came from the tour as well:
I had my hair, makeup, jewelry and clothes sponsored by Jayde Ariel, Forever Pretty Hair & Beauty Bar, Paparazzi Jewelry by Jewel Majesty, & Styled by Brittany Nicole.
I had people patronizing the businesses I shop with, one #PolishedPerson spent over 200 dollars with a location I was at. I receive a ton of love and affirmations that I was on the right track. I was able to gain more followers and awareness exposure to my brand.
