I love when I get to host events with strong roots to uplift the community. Saturday August 26th at King Park, I hosted the last Ujima series aka "Family Reunion".I was excited to be there while I watch the magic unfold right before my eyes as the whole BU crew got things set up. Onsite, BU Fresh Market was on site with fresh and FREE produces. I got to see Patty Play Scapes set up the soft play area for the kiddos five and under so they could enjoy their time also. I met Jamahl Keyes who is a black magician and he had a few magical tricks up his sleeve. Dj Psylo Sounds was dj on the 1's and 2's to start the party off right.
BU Wellness Network is a non-for-profit organization whose mission is to enhance the health and wellness of Black communities in Indiana. At this event, BU Wellness Network allowed attendees to show they were "Proud to pay" by making a small donation back to the organization. With your donation you were provide a food ticket to use at the food trucks like "Paul's Kitchen Food truck" or "The Hook Up" and they gave you an ice cream ticket to experience one of your favorite cold treats from "Chill Time Ice cream" truck.
You were also able to get your face painted by @paintsbydeb and she was quick as well. There was a bigger bounce house available, the 360 booth from @indy360pics was on site with different games like ring toss and soccer.
I am glad My girl Martina Drea was on site taking the photos and uploading content on the BU wellness network social media pages. The event was a success and another amazing opportunity for you to get to know the staff at BU Wellness and how they truly live up to their mission.
