Hey #PolishedPeople,
What’s going on, you know it’s your favorite lady, ThePolishedLady. I am back on the road again and not on vacation but on the way to handle some business. This is the type of business that could make or even change my entrepreneur’ life.
Wednesday, I received a call from my good friend also the best publicist on earth, Coco Michelle stating that she wish I could be in Atlanta for an event. She really didn’t give me any details about the event but knowing how Coco rolls I know she’s a Big Timer. I kept telling myself I have to make it somehow. Of course, the thoughts lingered about COVID-19 and what risk I was taking to put myself out there.
Then I thought about a quote “On the other side of your fears is greatest dreams made a reality”. Covid-19 isn’t going anywhere and covid is not going to stop my passion of being an entrepreneur. I have to play it smart and take some risks and give it my all. So write about now, I am sitting in the Nashville Greyhound terminal typing this to you all; you can’t be scared to succeed and I really prayed and asked God is this is right for me and that’s why I clicked book the ticket to make it to Atlanta, Georgia.
It’s Friday, August 14, 2020 and I really am about to have a media pass to an event hosted by the manager of the Trap Music Museum. I took a 3:30am bus to make it to Atlanta by 3:30pm & after I finish doing my thing I got to hop right back on the greyhound at 10:45 pm to make it back to Indy by 9:45am so I can be back in to host an event in at Epic on my own time. I get there and CoCo picks me up and we order some wings from J.R. Crickets and we head back to her house. We kicked it and discussed how excited I was to be here and excited for the event. 5 o’clock rolls around & we began to get dressed and head on over to The James Room where the event was being held. When we got there not going to lie, we was lost for a slight second and then I asked a sister girl where to go and then we found it.
Immediately I am excited to mix and mingle with other media outlets, Barcadi was a sponsor but the last thing on my mind was liquor. I was there to own my SPACE! By that time, we are waiting for the artist @yorichbizarre to arrive and @Krystalgardner aka “KG”, the manager of the Trap Music Museum had welcomed us. In about 30 mins into networking, I gained my 30 followers for the night and talked about how I got there, everyone was inspired by my hustle. Another 20 mins pasted and Regan of @reaganfarleyagency announced that Rich was here and that the unveiling of the new piece “World of Trap” was about to happen. Rich & KG talked about what was happening in the world and why this piece of Art + Activism had to be curated.
The reveal happened and wow I was overwhelmed with emotions for all the angry and confusion in the world with it’s wicked ways Rich and his team were about to shine light on the situation & create a piece to me that screams you don’t have to stay in this place if you don’t want to but you can be great & build greater things. I kept reading the quote “Is this really the land of the free” thinking Nah but we going to be alright. After that time the media were allowed to do an interview with Rich & KG. My time….
I posted the link below so you can check out my interview with them. After hearing how I made it to the A, Krystal Gardener offered to buy me dinner but I explained I am on my way back home for an event . Then she offered to buy me a shot, a shot of something that cost $45 dollars and might I add that’s the smoothest thing I ever drank .
To say the most I didn’t go on a trip, the trip me on a trip. It took me to a place of understand that you belong here. That you don’t have to worry about making it but you’ll create your very own way. I’m blessed I went , I stayed masked up & spraying and praying to make it home safe. I did get home by 10:21am rather than 9:45 am but I came home and showered but then I was off to my next event.
Life is Good. Now Apple needs to figure out this whole iphone storage is full shenagains. Live in your ultimate purpose and you’ll be fine.
