Hello #PolishedPeople,
Happy Thanksgiving and I hope you are all stay as safe as possible. I know that a lot of Thanksgiving dinners were cancelled with the whole family but that doesn't necessarily mean you have to be alone. The pandemic has taught me to use my resources at all cost.
I wanted to offer these suggestions to make the holidays a little easier for those who aren't used to not being around their family for the holidays.
1) If you are missing your family, you can call them and catch up. For those whose older family members are familiar with facebook and zoom , set a meeting or a room where you can add lots of family members and chat with them about the food you made on your own this year. Share what you are thankful for this year like tradition. Add this new question to the conversation : What has this pandemic taught you about yourself ?
2) Let your friends know how thankful you are for them by sending them a special detailed message as to why you rock with them. Set up a facetime group \ Instagram group to start a chat and spend time with them. Watch a movie together while on the phone. If you do have a small gathering, keep your distance, do not share cups, spoons, forks, and etc. Hot chocolate bar and comfy pajamas are strongly recommended.
3) Make New Traditions , Make your own new recipes and let your kids cook with you. If you always have a big thanksgiving meal try having a cute simple brunch instead. Don't strain yourself and your financial resources trying to please the masses. Map out how you are going to spend your extra coins on black friday. Shop local , support your friends or family business that you been meaning to.
These are a few different ways you can celebrate and still feel the holiday vibes while being safe and smart.
