As a mom, a girlfriend and a business owner, I sometimes forget to do give myself the self care and attention I deserve. I believe that some of my friends who are not moms forget I enjoy grown up outings and hanging out with my girls too. That's why for my 25th birthday I decided to throw a birthday brunch.
I invited 9 of my closest girlfriends to my brunch and I cooked a full spread and even got them to taste my secret lemonade recipe. Of course, a couple of the girls brought their men and that wasn't a problem either because I wanted Haasan to stay with me and experience this moment in time with me. Let me start with the menu, I cooked chicken tenders and made waffles, egg muffins with turkey sausage, green peppers, onions, cheese and spinach. I roasted some pre-diced potatoes in the oven and made the lemonade.
I asked everyone to be at my brunch at noon but by the time I was done setting up the things we needed for the brunch it was 12:30 pm & only my cousin, Alexis and Haasan was there. So, a hour later people start to roll in and that was fine. We begin to eat and laugh with each other while also celebrating me. It was absolutely the best and made all the shopping, cooking and stressing about it all worth it.
My absolute favorite part was the gift I gave to each attendee, a positivity jar that we all pass a positive message to one another and it was so beautiful to keep my people uplifted too. If you are not sure on what a positivity jar is then you want to click the link below as I walk you through how to create your own.
