A New Year & A slight scare

Happy to be in the new year,2021 ; Aren't we all ?

The first four days of the new year were great, I filled them with goal setting , cleaning and planning. However , these last few days have been scary if I am being completely honest. Three Days ago, my baby aka "ThePolishedPrince" had a fever of 104. 1 degrees. I KNOW, I panicked when I read the thermometer too.

I automatically begin re-tracing his steps, like who was he with and where did he go ? I always make sure he has his mask on but did he take it off when I wasn't looking or what?

Then I jumped to the worse conclusion ever and started to believe my baby caught, COVID-19. Immediately, I messaged his doctor and begin taking notes of the times he ate/drank , his temperatures and when he took his medicine.

After the phone conversation with his doctor, I told her I wanted to get him tested for COVID-19. She said okay and scheduled a follow up appointment for next week. The 5th of January, me and Waalid were tested for COVID-19. Surprisingly, Waalid didn't cry or anything. Then we went back home and prepared for quarantine time.

No motivation to work on anything or watch Netflix until I knew for sure my baby was alright. My mother and sister called via Facebook messenger to video chat multiple times throughout the day. One of the saddest part of being a mother is seeing your baby in pain or sad and not really being able to do anything about it. Waalid has only been sick one other time in his life and he had a high fever that lasted 3 days.

At 4:20 (the time was Waalid's birthday) am , I got an email letting me know that my results were negative and so were my baby's test results. Amen thank you God. I just wanted to say to you all to stay safe. You, I and we are not immune to COVID-19 and it is still very real. Please protect your loved one and mask up. Mommies and Daddies out there, it is perfectly okay to inform your boss you have to take off of work because your child is sick. If they aren't understanding then get another job !
